We are pleased to introduce our new Dot lighting collection, a series of candy-colored mix-and-match handblown glass spheres mounted on sleek brass canopies. Dot allows for extraordinary juxtapositions of shape and color with versions offering one, two, or three lit glass diffusers.
"Dot has a simple, playful shape that evokes a happy, emotional response," says Karen Gilbert, co-founder of SkLO with Paul Pavlak and Pavel Hanousek. "We love seeing our designs make those connections. Emotion is such a key aspect when crafting a mood or atmosphere with light."

Dot matches its sense of fun with equally serious design options including the entire range of SkLO's nine opaque glass colors. Neutral tones like Oyster and White provide understated options for classic spaces, while brighter hues like Flamingo and Linden Tree Green can introduce energy, fun - even a Pop Art sensibility. With such a wide range, colors are also easy to swap. Dot makes a great design layer, echoing and amplifying the pattern or texture of materials such as wallpaper, textiles and tile. For added flexibility, Dot can be flush-mounted on both ceilings and walls.

Dot shines in applications for hospitality and residential alike. In hospitality, its size and functionality make it ideal for creative installations in multiples, such as running a series of lights along a hotel hallway wall or ceiling, or flanking the walls of a restaurant with color-coordinated accents. Neutral tones like Oyster and Light Beige create calm in classic spaces or offer a relaxing moment in a flurry of color and pattern. In residential settings, Dot works well throughout the home from children's and powder rooms to elegant living or dining spaces working well as sconces or in multiples.

Each Dot fixture is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, celebrating the centuries-old Czech glassblowing tradition while embracing modern design sensibilities. "We wanted to create a light that's as versatile as it is beautiful and well made — a fixture that can seamlessly layer into any space wile offering unique and customizable color options," Karen says. "With Dot, we did it."
The Dot 1X, Dot 2X, and Dot 3X Sconce/Ceiling are available in nine opaque glass colors including Apricot, Celadon, Flamingo, Light Beige, Linden Tree Green, New Blue, Oyster, Pastel Green, and White; and four hardware finishes including Brushed Brass, Dark Oxidized, Brushed Nickel and Polished Nickel.

Making Of
"Creating Mantle begins with dipping the pipe into thick molten glass and then applying a layer of opaque color. The process is repeated as the form is dipped again and for a third time, creating the illusion of discs of colors hovering within the transparent form. The effect brings to mind planetary rings or a celestial object floating in space."
