Our ever-evolving Healdsburg showroom acts as a creative laboratory to explore, inspire and showcase our 2024 collections
Happy summer from all of us at SkLO!
For this issue of Sketchbook, we are pleased to share the latest news from our showroom, located in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country in Healdsburg, California. With its wide windows and abundance of natural light, our showroom highlights the range of work from classics to new creations including sneak peeks of upcoming work.
"Personal connections are at the heart of what we do. Our showroom allows our customers to experience the luminosity and scale of our glass first-hand," says Pavel Hanousek, CEO of SkLO. "It also captures the ethos of our brand and reflects what inspires us every day here in Wine Country."
At our studio now you can experience several highlights of our 2024 Object and Light collections including:
Rest Pendant
Newly installed, our dramatic Rest Pendants introduce marble as a material into the design language of the SkLO Light Collection for the first time. With simple gravity, beveled shapes of richly colored frosted glass "rest" securely on conical shaped Carrara marble pendants.
Pillow Sconce and Pendant
One of our most popular new designs, the Pillow Series includes pendants as well as wall sconces and flush ceiling designs in multiple sizes. Curving, concave forms of frosted glass contain smaller smooth glass shapes that are lit and nestled within.
Blend
We love the scale and subtle curved forms of this oversize handblown glass piece that tapers to a narrow top. Soft opaque glass color fades in intensity from top to bottom. The top is capped with a brushed brass finial.
Dew
SkLO Dew Vessels are substantial, visually complex pieces that evoke the molten nature of handblown glass. The vessels now come in three new colorways: Steel Blue Frosted, Strawberry Frosted and Smoke Frosted.
We're always working on new designs and love the opportunity to share them. Please reach out to us to schedule an appointment.

Making Of
"Deceptively simple, the development of our glass color samples took a lot of patience and experimentation. It was important to represent the color in a way that would be similar to a piece from our Object Collection, or a lighting element from our Light Collection. A small blown shape like a small bubble that is fully enclosed will read too dark. For our samples, we decided on blowing long cylinders of glass into wooden moulds. Then, we cut the cylinders into rings, cut the rings in half, cold work and polish each cut face, and finally sandblast the SkLO logo and color code into them. Each sample is as exquisitely made as any of our glass and requires skill and quite a bit of hard work."
